typingname is a free tool, and these terms are meant to be as plain as the product itself. By using typingname, you agree to the points below.

What typingname is

typingname generates AI-suggested business/domain names from a description you provide, and checks live registry availability for those names across the extensions you select. It's provided free of charge, "as is," with no account required.

AI-generated names are suggestions, not guarantees

Every name is generated by an AI model and scored using an automated, heuristic-based system (length, pronounceability, memorability, distinctiveness). These scores are a starting point for your own judgment, not a certification that a name is good, original, or safe to use. typingname doesn't guarantee that any suggested name is free of trademark conflicts, doesn't already function as a brand elsewhere, or will suit your business — that evaluation is yours to make. The in-app "brand risk check" links to external tools (USPTO trademark search, social handle lookups) to help with that, but those are quick manual links, not live automated checks, and not legal advice.

Domain availability accuracy

Availability is checked against public domain registries (RDAP) at the moment you run a search and reflects a live snapshot, not a guarantee. Some extensions (for example .io and .co) have no public registry that reports live availability; where that's the case, typingname says so explicitly rather than guessing, and links you to Dynadot to check directly. Domain availability, and pricing shown in the app, can change between the moment you view it and the moment you attempt to register — always confirm both on the registrar's site before completing a purchase.

Third-party links and Dynadot

Registering a domain happens entirely on Dynadot's website, an independent domain registrar not operated by typingname. typingname is not responsible for Dynadot's pricing, availability, checkout process, or policies once you leave this site. The same applies to any other third-party link in the app (Anthropic, trademark/social-handle lookup tools).

Affiliate relationship

typingname has applied to Dynadot's affiliate/referral program and expects to participate once that application is approved. Once live, if you register a domain after clicking through from this site, typingname may earn a commission — at no extra cost to you, and without changing the price you're shown or the availability data you're given. Acceptable use

typingname's name-generation and availability-check endpoints are provided for normal, interactive use through the app itself. Please don't scrape the site, automate bulk requests against its API outside the normal wizard flow, or otherwise use it in a way that degrades the service for other people.

No warranty, limitation of liability

typingname is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by law, typingname and its operator are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the site — including decisions made based on AI-generated names, brand scores, or availability data shown here.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the product evolves. Continued use of typingname after a change means you accept the updated terms; the "last updated" date above always reflects the current version.
